Owner of Good Hair Days
Nikki Thorpe opened the first Good Hair Days salon in 2002 in Uppingham Rutland.
Prior to establishing her own business Nikki managed the renowned London Salon, Cutting Remarks for Stephen Shoult, son of Vidal Sassoon's business partner. Having trained with Andrew Barton of Sax, Nikki’s enthusiasm and drive to become one of East Midlands top hairdressers continued with training from Paul Mitchell. At the start of Nikki's career, she trained as a beauty therapist, a makeup artist in multimedia makeup and finally a postiche maker with the skills to modernize wigs.
Nikki's high level of experience and incredible reputation are what positions her two salons to be at the forefront of hairdressing and beauty in both Rutland and Stamford. Nikki has an incredible enthusiasm to make sure all members of her team operate to the same exacting standards and high-level cutting techniques with ongoing in-house and third-party training courses. Both salons specialise on long and short hair techniques, colouring, restyling and bridal packages. Weddings are an area of the business Nikki now has a great reputation and following for. The addition of beauty treatments and make fulfilled in the Uppingham salon fulfilled a lifetime ambition.
Nikki is Rutland born and bred living in Rutland with her daughter Grace and Norfolk terrier cross Jack Russel called Teddi. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending quality time with Grace watching films, cooking and traveling. Her interests include horse riding, horse racing, theatre, music and singing in a local choir. At weekends Nikki spends her leisure time on the beautiful Norfolk coast enjoying the best of village pubs, nice restaurants and country walks.

Salon Manager Uppingham & Stamford
Currently on Maternity Leave
I’m very pleased to be the new Manager of both Stamford and Uppingham Salon’s. My background in hairdressing has seen me working across Peterborough, Wansford, Oundle and London over my 14 year career.
I worked for 6 years in Central London as a Senior Stylist in a multi-award-winning salon which taught me so much, it was a truly amazing experience. I believe hair health is paramount to making my clients looking their very best! So I am glad to be working with some of the best product ranges around.
I got married last August in Water Newton and had a beautiful garden wedding in the churchyard which was so lovely! I am off to California shortly for a delayed honeymoon so will have lots of stories to tell!
As a keen photographer I am looking forward to taking some great pictures of my travels! Please feel free to enquire about anything hair/non hair related. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all along the way. X
Senior Stylist -Stamford
I relocated to the area from Chesterfield in 2013 to join my partner, we have a Son and a Rottweiler. I enjoy walking keeping fit and generally anything with two wheels. I’ve been hairdressing since 2005 and I’m extremely excited about joining the team at Good Hair Days.
I am immensely passionate about all aspects of hairdressing, specialising in colouring and cutting. I am a dedicated professional with excellent communication skills and pride myself in enhancing the positive experience of every client’s visit. I can’t wait to share my knowledge with younger team members and expand my knowledge and skill sets in this ambitious salon.
Stylist - Stamford
Hi, I'm Heather, I have been with good hair days since Sep 2018 and qualified at level 3. Prior to this in 2004 I qualified at level 3 in wig making and media make up. I enjoy competition work and came 1st and 3rd place in regional and 3rd place in national competitions. I have also taken part in a world skills competition which was a fantastic experience. I enjoy all hairdressing but I am hoping to improve my barbering skills.
I’m Beth and at 26 I’ve decided to take a career change and started an apprenticeship.
I love watching YouTubes on hair and how it’s created and I like to try out different styles. I like socialising, visiting new places and enjoy the adventure of the countryside and riding my bike.
Well that is a little bit of an insight into my fabulous team, which I am so proud of, and without them I would not have such a great business and wonderful clientele.
